What Are Invisalign Clear Aligners & How Do They Work?

Invisalign® is an orthodontic system that uses a series of clear teeth aligners to gradually straighten teeth. These discreet invisible aligners are custom made to fit comfortably over teeth and should be worn throughout the day and night. Even so, the clear aligners are also removable for more enjoyable mealtimes and effective brushing and flossing.

Using digital imaging technology, Dr. Ellsworth or Dr. Hill will scan your mouth in order to make multiple sets of clear braces that are designed to be swapped out every two weeks. Each pair is customized to move your teeth slightly more toward an aligned position as your treatment progresses. We ask our patients to return to our office every two weeks during treatment so that our Invisalign® dentists can track your progress and make any necessary adjustments.

If you suffer from the following orthodontic conditions, you could be a great candidate for Invisalign:

  • Crooked Teeth
  • Overbites
  • Underbites
  • Crossbites
  • Gaps Between Teeth
  • Open Bites
  • Crowded Teeth
  • Misshapen Teeth
  • ...and more!

Your Consultation With Our Invisalign Orthodontist

During your consultation, one of our Invisalign dentists will carefully examine your teeth and jaw using digital x-rays and imaging technologies to determine the most accurate diagnosis. If together you decide that Invisalign® will help you meet your goals, your dentist will take digital impressions of your teeth and use those impressions to develop your treatment plan.

Generally speaking, patients with mild-to-moderate misalignment are the best candidates for Invisalign®. That being said, if our dentists discover a more severe orthodontic issue, they may recommend traditional orthodontics to straighten your teeth instead.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

  • The specific terms of your dental insurance coverage
  • The length of your Invisalign treatment
  • If preliminary procedures or treatments must be completed prior to you beginning Invisalign

At Family Dental of Spokane Valley, we never want your total Invisalign cost to be a prohibitive one. To make it easy for you to afford treatment, we accept a wide range of dental insurance plans. And, if you're uninsured, we even accept no-interest and low-interest monthly payment plans through CareCredit® that can be used alone or in conjunction with your insurance.
